Oliver Cooper gardening at the Royal Free croppedWork is underway to improve the Pond Street garden around the edge of the Royal Free Hospital, and I’ve been delighted to join the team of volunteers helping out today.

The work is restoring the overlooked, overgrown, and over-littered stretch of garden beds down the southern side of Pond Street and turning them into gardens that will add to the beauty of the area.

Huge thanks go to the indefatigable Linda Grove, Malcolm Grove, and Charlotte Gascoigne for organising the work, and to the Royal Free Charity for helping to fund it.

I’ll be joining the volunteers again over the next few Saturday mornings, and hope you can to. To do so, contact grovelinda@yahoo.com. It’s a great sign of what the community can do , and I’m all too happy to do my part.
